Yes on all three accounts, Izzy. But is this really what we are talking about, or maybe better put, is this all that we are talking about? What happens when you take that new and exciting insight to church with you and when you share it with other Christians, Christians whom you love and respect very much, some or many of them tell you that you are in error, that your reading is antithetical to Scripture? When they tell you this, does it make you wrong and them right? Do you immeditely abandon your new insight?

Scuse me Bill & Izzy - Just wanted to point out that Izzy's insight had nothing to do with doctrine, it was the Spirit of God speaking to her personal situation.

Or, on the other hand, does it mean that they are wrong and you are right, and therefore obviously they are not open to the work of the Spirit on this matter?

I wouldn't think anyone would oppose what God has said to another believer because it doesn't involve me personally; if they miss it by listening to the wrong voice and get in a ditch we should be there to help them out. I've seen lots of that in the Charismatic Movmt but that's not to say we should throw out the baby with the bathwater.

In a case like this, Izzy, who is it who stands above the trees, with a God's-eye view of the truth, is it you or they (and remember, we are talking bout your Christian brothers and sisters, whom you love and respect)?

When we look to God in prayer He does not give our answer to someone else; neither can we walk in someone else's light.  We must hear the voice of Jesus for ourselves.

Why can't Christians seem to see things the same if we are all indwelt with this mind-of-Christ-in-us capability?

We are all in different states of repair - because of the fall.... and the iniquities we inherit from the fathers, however it will all come together at the end.
