By the way folks, I am interested: How many of you think the following verse is in reference to the Bible and how many think it is speaking about Jesus Christ?  Heb 4:12 â
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and  able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.â

Please be specific; i.e., include your arguments for one or the other.

I didn't see a lot of answers to this question.   For me and this particular passage, it can only be talking about the Christ.   The Bible, per se, is no where referenced in scripture.

The phrase "word of God," appears to me to be what is revealed by God, whether it be through an actual prophet, a circumstance, a reading of scripture, the timely comment of a sainted friend or the Living Jesus.   In a practical sense, the 'living word" is the dynamic force of God in our lives  --  the "indwelling Christ."   Actually, this is only jargon unless given a practical understanding.    Phil 2:12,13 presents this dynamic force and credits our every [good] decision and our every [wonderful] desire to do  what is right.   It is that instinctive knowing  --   but it is not instinctive at all.    When I am driven to an apology, when I driven to my knees in praise, when there is that strong push to speak to a particular and absolute stranger  (an so on)   ---------------    that is the Living Word at work within me [and all who claim the name]
