Hi Caroline,
My first question is how do you know Terah was 70yrs old when Abram was born?  Gen 11:26 tells us that Terah was 70yrs old when he began having children and that he had three sons.  Scripture does not reveal to us which son was born first, the name of Terah's wife, or how old Terah was at the time each of his sons was born.

Caroline:
I believe scripture is saying Terah was 70 by the time he had three sons. If Abram is the oldest, he could have been born when Terah was younger than 70.
jt: Would I be accurate in saying that you do see God's Word and scripture as one and the same but that you have conferred this title on Jesus in the flesh?

Caroline:
The Word (logos) is the Second Person of the Trinity. John wrote that in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. The bible never refers to itself as the Word. It is either scriptures or writings. So whenever I read Word in my bible, I understand that to mean Christ Jesus.

jt: Is the "community thing" same to you as "working out your own salvation with fear and trembling?" and by the above are you saying that you "speak to Him" through community?

Caroline:
You can think of community as church where church is a gathering of Christians. We work out our salvation with fear and trembling by ourselves and in church with the help of the Holy Spirit. We commune with God by ourselves and in church by prayer, bible reading, worship etc. God speaks to us when we worship, pray, read the bible, through other people and circumstances etc. He speaks to us individually and He speaks to the group.
