But Judy,  I see your stance  on (perhaps) 80% of the issues of discussion  (the unabridged version)
to be doctrines of men!!!   I am as bible based as you.

I would challenge the above JD. To begin with I don't believe you know my stance on most issues.
because you don't pay attention.  Secondly you are not Bible based as you call it at all.
Well,  I know what you have written which may or may not be what you actually think.
And Bible bases ??   Every bit as much as you , my dear.

My hermeneutic, quite frankly, is more productive than yours  --  in view of the fact that you do
not claim to have one!  The Spirit most definitely speaks to me as profoundly as to you.

When following your hermeneutic JD you are out there on your own.  Philosophy is a discipline of
men which leads to the doctrines of men that you claim not to follow.  The wisdom from above
is entirely other.  "Hermeneutic"  is the science of interpreting (esp.) the scriptures.  Without a practical and well thought out hermeneutic, the only alternative left is a helter skelter butchery of the biblical message   --------------   This why you and DM have  such unusual theologies.  Both of you are marvelous Christian disciples, just as is Lance and BT and Mr G.   each of us have at least one thing in common, a birth into Christ finds us committed to the same Sovereign God of Salvation.   I hasten to add that a well thought hermeneutic is no answer for disunity   ...........   the butchery is less profound, I think,  but there can be no unity based upon hermeneutical practicalities, either.

You are not more honest in your desire to work out your own salvation than I.   Now what
do we do?   Call each other humanists and move on?  jd

Obviously we will both do what we are convinced in our own minds and hearts to do JD and we will
each be rewarded according to what we have done at the end of the day.  And No, I don't go along w/
name calling.  jt    Did I hear a "Yes, JD, you are probably as honest as I" ???

Believing in them is one thing - of course no one will confess to believing in them, while ATST many are blindly
following them.  Any time the clear teaching of God's Word is rejected or reasoned away in favor of some
doctrine or other this is taking place.  In fact I experienced it just yesterday in a class where I saw a video
explaining why the denomination I attend baptizes babies.  It can't be justified by God's Word and they twist
a scripture or two to try and lay the foundation.  I don't understand why we can't just dedicate the babies
like Mary & Joseph.  Take them to the temple (?) and consecrate them to God since they can't understand
the meaning of baptism and noone can commit their lives for them.  judyt

We (here on TT) have gone a long way in proving that unity based on "true" doctrine is not the pathway to unity.   All of the issues listed below were discussions over what the Bible has to say about those particular concerns.   Not one person on this site believes in "doctrines of men."  All are trying to approximate the truth.  If we cannot allow for "unity" to found in the commonality of our search for truth, there will be no unity in Christ.

We lay aside doctrines of men and everything that does not conform us to godliness and
holiness and we receive with meekness the "engrafted word" which is able to save our souls.
Think about it;  if we do not unite and gather around the truth of His Word - we will never agree on
which spirit is the "holy one" because we will have no frame of reference.  judyt

How do we continue when there are so many differences?

Eternal Sonship

Continuance of apostles and prophets

Holiness and the indwelling
Holiness as a gifted consideration

I would continue but I am watching "The Quiet Man"  and the greatest big screen fight of all time is about to be shown  (John Wayne and company).
