Because we are bringing forth the Scriptures and asking, "what about what
this teaches..." For example, if someone says God does not love the world,
I might say, "what about John 3:16?" I'm not interpreting. I'm bringing up
a passage and leaving it to the one making the claim to interpret it. If he
is interested in debate, he will find a way to argue against it. If he
hears the passage, he will say, "you have a point, here. Let me rethink
what I said before."

It is not necessary, but it can be helpful. God uses various individuals
within the body of Christ to help keep us from straying. As we submit
ourselves one to another, we can grow better.

It is kind of like saying, "why take vitamins or eat nutritiously if I can
live just fine without doing so?" Well, that's right, but eating nutriously
can help you grow better.

Yes, that too.

Peace be with you.
