Goes without saying, Terry, although it doesn't
mean we don't ask for something more specific, and that the two may not
coincide. (Gethsemane?) In fact, the below is right in line with what I
have said. It is the same as saying, or having the attitude: God, it just
may be that what I am asking for is no good, in which case I am
leaving it in your hands and trusting you right now to do something else. I
think David believes that if we are spiritually mature, this situation never
arises. We always know. It is part of the perfection thing, I
think.
