Judy, do you believe the "works" of Ro 4:3 are not the same as the "works" of James, chapter two?

Maybe by your rules of exegesis and those of your human mentors JD. But if you would lay all that aside and
ask the Lord to reveal His Word to you, He would be able to reveal to you the fact that God's moral law and
the royal law in Christ are both basically love.

The correct way of saying it is this: nobody has the power to walk as Christ walked."Works of the law" is "obedience to the law." There is no other way, exegetically speaking,to consider those words. JdWith all due respect JD because I know how dear to your heart you hold this "exegesis" I seeit as your biggest stumbling stone. Last week our SS Teacher who is a graduate of some seminarystated that God's decree to Adam to "keep the garden" was a covenant of works (Genesis 2:15) andhere you are with your scholarly pedigree claiming that obedience to the Royal Law is "works" fromwhich you are exempt. No wonder confusion reigns....From: David Miller [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Nobody has the power to walk as Christ walked without the cross. You confuse obedience with works. They are not the same. My obedience is not a work. My obedience comes out of my relationship with someone I love. Peace be with you.
