cd: While I am hoping that I am not one of those people afraid to think outside the box. How can one be spiritual while breaking the law sent to help us be spiritual.
Pete responds: It says the Law is Spiritual, not that following the Law makes one Spiritual. No man is justified by the Law. cd: How about righteousness-if breaking the law (ie.Commandments) has no effect on the spiritual. How can the unrighteous be spiritual? Pete responds: No one is righteous. Our faith has made us righteous. Just as Abraham was declared righteous BEFORE the Law came. cd: Which box are we speaking of here? Thinking outside the bible perhaps? Pete: Absolutely not. Let me ask you a question. Do you still make sacrifices according to the Law? If not, why not? Do you keep all 612 laws? If not, why not? Didn't Jesus say that you fulfill the law when you love your God will all your heart, mind and soul and love your neighbor as yourself. You won't break the Law if you fulfill the two main laws mentioned above. Loving God means you accept Jesus and becoming righteous by believing in Him. This fulfills the sacrificial part of the law. The atonement is through Him. You won't break the civil laws if you love your neighbor as yourself. As to what is referred to some as the "dietary laws," Mat 15:11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man. Thinking outside the box in the context I was referring to means you consider ideas you have not thought of before. ---------- "Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer every man."
