I don't know where you got the 340 AD date.  Hippolytus was born 80 years 
after the apostle John died, about 170 A.D.  He died a martyr around 236 
A.D.  His mentor was Irenaeus, whose mentor was Polycarp, whose mentor was 
John the apostle.  What reason do you have to doubt the names that he lists 
for the seventy ordained by Jesus in Luke 10?

Upon what authority do you base your perspective that Mark was not around 
during Christ's ministry?

I caution you not to embellish upon second hand theories that you read from 
theologians in such a way that it would cause you to reject primary 
historical documents.
