I installed TDK 2.1 on my Win 2k machine using Sun JDK 1.3.1
and Oracle 8i. I got almost everything to work (although the
two step install is a bit confusing). The performance of each
request was abismal. I am used to sub-second responses when
the server and the browser are on the same machine. The problem
is that each request was taking 1.5 to 3 seconds on my machine.
I am running Win2k with an Athlon 750 and 256MB of RAM. My JDK
is set to use 256MB on startup. I am using the Catalina (Tomcat 4)
that comes in the TDK.
Can someone please clue me in as to what the performance problem
might be? The pages produced by Turbine are not that complex.
