after all of these comments about turbine being a more or less well managed 
(read: well documented, good distro) project, i'd like to share my 
perspective (having just done one turbine-based project).

although much of the critizism is valid, and turbine should do more to make 
its benefits more public (not only to users, but to prospective users as 
well), i personally had only minor troubles getting the tdk up and running.
and the list has been a tremendous help throughout the development of my 
project!

so, yes, there are a few things that should be done, but overall, turbine is 
excellent, the doc needs working, but the support on the list is great.
