I'm a complete Turbine newbie, I gave the TDK a quick go (with latest
versions of MySQL and Ant).. but had to hand tweak some of the database
generation files (which I obivously shoudln't have to do, maybe the wrong
version of MySQL?) I still didn't get it going properly...

I'll try again when I've got a spare 1/2 day without the TDK and see how it
goes... the lack of a dummies guide is a problem.

Subject: RE: [RFC] We need a new TDK

Personally, I don't like the TDK. I don't think that we should have one
either.

I started off using the TDK. I will admit that it was easy to get
started that way. The problem is that I never learned how it was
working until I finally threw it away and started over without the TDK.
It was only then that I learned what all of the settings were in the
various property files.

Granted, I was using the TDK in 2.1. When I moved to 2.2, I stopped
using the TDK. That could have had a great deal to do with my problems
concerning the TDK.

I would rather see one or two sample apps that are ready to be built
with Maven replace the TDK. One should use JSP. The other should use
Velocity. I think this would be much more helpful to new users.
