You keep spreading words like "very large" and "lots of interest"...but
could you please quantify them? For example, how large is "very large"?
In other words, Velocity already has 6 developers working on it. As far as I
can tell, WM only has one barely part time developer. Given that statistic,
don't you think that Velocity development will go nearly 6 times as fast as
WM's? That does not even count the additional resources that will be
attracted to the project because of the visibility and the fact that we have
a stable and mature development platform.
Given that we have come as far as we have in around 2 weeks (basic caching
alone was implemented in 2 days), I think that we will be so far ahead of WM
in another month, it won't be worth thinking about WM at all. Velocity will
simply replace WM as the tool to use.
