I agree that he needs time, but the primary differences for me are
that Conan basically had no on-camera experience and had a sharp
learning curve, but got pretty good. Fallon had (according to IMDb)
seven or eight seasons on SNL, but came off looking like a guy they'd
dragged off of the street and thrown in front of the cameras. (Though
he frequently looked that way oin SNL, too, as I recall.)

NBC and Lorne have too much invested in this to yank him quickly --
and if the numbers stay reasonable, there won't be any reason to even
think of that option -- but if the first two nights are any
indication, it's going to be ugly until he gets comfortable doing the
gig.

I couldn't stand to watch last night after about three minutes (my
taped episodes of "Green Acres" were much funnier), but when I came
back, Tina Fey had a look on her face that indicated she really didn't
want to be there. Was that the case in the panel, or did I just hit a
bad moment?
