Conan could reliably get a 1.8 rating. If Fallon comes in over 1.5 NBC won't panic. The sign of a failing talk show host is the inability to book guests. Considering NBC will have 3.5 talk shows to book come fall, there's a chance that could be trouble for Fallon if he hasn't found a faithful audience by then.
