"This thread is unleashing a flood of AI frustration that I have been
sitting on (now half way through my third AI experience). My first
question is who exactly does Michael Jackson have to screw to keep him
from being "idolized"? Is next week going to be OJ Simpson week on
Idol?"

ME: And Kobe Bryant is once again making commercials, so what's your
point?

Me? I'll be royally pissed if Chris Brown still has a career. But I
bet he will

"And pity the poor singers who, when required to pick an MJ song, are
then criticized for having made a lightweight selection (as opposed to
all of the profoundly complex MJ songs out there?)."

ME: He does have a large catalogue of songs, many of which are
considered pop classics. There have been much tougher weeks in the
past. Contestants weren't really being criticized for making
lightweight selections, but for making the wrong selections. I agree
with Kara that Jorge should have chosen "She's Out of My Life." In
contrast, Adam made absolutely the right choice.

"That new chick has no campy appeal - she is just 100% obnoxious."

She does have a lot of experience in the music business, i.e., she
frequently makes excellent points, especially when she talks about what
it takes to make it in the music business (it's not enough to have a
great voice or to be a great singer). If you listen to her, you can
understand why Jasmine and Megan were wildcard picks (Jasmine in
particular has wonderful stage presence, which Kara noted last night).

And she (Kara) dresses beautifully.
