Are all HD broadcasts created equal? I now have two Scientific Atlanta
8300 HD DVRs (having dumped the buggy Samsung, which somehow ran Time
Warner's inadequate Navigator/Mystro software even worse than the SA),
and I notice that comparable libraries of recorded hours don't show as
equivalent percentages on the usage meter. Is it possible that, say,
an hour of CBS HD takes up more space than an hour of ABC Family HD?
Or is the usage meter so inexact that its information should be taken
loosely?

In other news, Comedy Central HD did show up today in NYC, as
promised. Unfortunately, it's not a stable signal as of two hours ago
-- crackling audio, stuttering video. Here's hoping they sort it out
before Colbert breaks the frame again.
