In the Central, Mountain and Pacific time zones, Oprah is/was seen at 3 p.m. in many markets after the end of ABC's daytime schedule (ABC and CBS have run on the Central time schedules for daytime in the Pacific time zone for years, NBC--well, since their daytime schedule outside of "Today" is one hour, they don't matter). In Chicago, she was always seen at 9 a.m., since she took over "AM Chicago" in 1984 (WLS is now airing a live show called "Windy City Live" at 9 a.m., but it's too early to decide its fate just yet despite an extremely shaky first show). However, on the day after the Oscars, WLS always carried her post-Oscar show live at the feed time of 3 p.m. CT (4 p.m. ET, 1 p.m. PT). Which would indicate that the 4 p.m. ET/3 p.m. CT time slot would be what ABC-Disney's shooting for with Katie. In Chicago, as it has for eons, WLS wins the time slot with "Inside Edition," "Jeopardy!" and the first hour of local news. If--and that's a big if--"Windy City Live" bombs, Katie could go in 9 a.m. on WLS (but against ABC-Disney's Whoever and Kelly on WGN). If not, ABC- Dianey would have to sell the show to another station or WLS would put it in at 11:05 p.m. like they have with an Oprah rerun for years and continue to piss off Jimmy Kimmel's fans, who have to stay up until 12:05 a.m. in Chicago to see him. -- TV or Not TV ....
