NBC paid more than first reported for the 4 Olympics-deal ($4.38 billion instead of $4B). Also, apparently ESPN only submitted a bid on a 2-Games package, not the full 4, which pretty much DQed them from the gate. Not clear what the Fox offer was. Also apparently Bobby Costas gave a big speech at the presentation. If ESPN was not really serious, I am less surprised NBC retained - I can see why the Olympics might not want to take a chance on Fox Sports... -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
