I over-generalized with the word "owns". Your interpretation is correct. My core question is which of these three statements is the most accurate: A. There's one contract that covers Dave and WWP, and it runs through 2014. B. There are two contracts (one for Dave, one for WWP) that run concurrently (through 2014). C. There are two contracts (one for Dave, one for WWP) but they do not run concurrently (i.e., the contract with WWP runs later than Dave's).
And the related question is a little more general: Does Dave have any interest in involvement of who the next 11:35 host is? That is, does Dave look at his seat as something that should be handed over and he should be consulted (e.g., Johnny) or just an open spot that will be filled by whatever warm body is available (e.g., his 12:35 slot at NBC)? The answer to the first question would likely impact the answer to this question.
