I should have clarified that my baseline expectations from SNL are that
it sucks. they have to work their way up from there. gaga brought it
up a bit.

I didn't consider it worthy even of comment, even by the new bottoms
of the barrel SNL keeps finding. (Any show that relies on the comic

having sketches that preemptively said "I'm not original" and "My
career is doomed to obscurity" doesn't mitigate her lack of

To tell the truth, my favorite part of the show was the billboard
plugging next week's host, whom (even after looking him up) I still
have no idea he is.

My wife and I watched it (and she RARELY watches SNL) because of
the Rob Ford cold-open.
There was a lot of the Gaga stuff that we found chuckle-funny.
She is more of an "actor" than I had expected from a musical guest.
And the very last skit was much funnier than most of the 12:55am
skits that air in that slot.
