I would recommend that you check out Ms. Lakshmi's recent appearance on "Whose 
Line..."  If you're really fascinated with her, she did make an appearance on 
Star Trek: Enterprise (it may have just been Enterprise at the time).  A 
"Taming of the Shrew" scenario of sorts.

I was talking to my wife about Scorpion this morning (she just watched it last 
night), and what came from that is a realization that I think it has a 
"Scandal" problem - the show keeps telling you how super smart the characters 
are supposed to be, but rarely do you seem them actually doing anything super 
smart. I spent some time watching the first six seasons of Top Chef this 
summer, and was reminded that the show does not spend very much time commenting 
on how absurdly, ridiculously beautiful and sexy Padma Lakshmi is - they just 
show her actually being absurdly, ridiculously beautiful and sexy (one of the 
main reasons I bothered to go back and watch the old episodes - I would not if 
the cast had been the same as season 1 all the way through). Shows about smart 
people need to take a note from Top Chef.
