It does seem unlikely that ratings would even stay even with Holt, and I
would still take the odds of Williams staying. Even so, here is a link to a

I have completely lost touch with the Today Show, but this article brings
up a good point - if Williams stays toxic, moving Lauer to the Nightly News
allows them to bring up Josh Elliott to replace him at Today, which could
solve two problems at once (or make two short-term or minor problems
chronic and serious ones).
