As for the length of the suspension, I believe (and can't provide any evidence) that NBC negotiated that with Williams or his representatives. Firing him could have led to a wrongful termination lawsuit as Williams had a signed contract that was being broken for something he did not do as a part of his job. -- -- TV or Not TV ....
