I had not seen Kevin's post about Jones when I sent my last post. A few things:
1. Gross 2. I read that Jones is already emitting his slime about what it was like to be interviewed by her - last Tuesday? If true, not only is this interview not news in terms of its subject matter, but it is not news in terms of timeliness. 3. OTOH, it would mean the interview is taped, not live. Assuming it was edited, that would be an improvement (I have a bee in my bonnet on this because one of the things I read about her Sunday show was that it would feature live interviews which (except in cases of breaking crises, as noted earlier) I am against. 4. One of the rationales for Kelly is that she can bridge the gap form the mainstream to the FoxNews bubble viewer. Presumably this would mean both making some peculiar conservative views understandable/plausible to the mainstream on the one hand, and also communicating to that bubble why some of their beliefs are illegitimate. I agree with Kevin that Jones is so obscene and beyond civil discourse that he does not deserve this treatment, but it will at least be an early test for her. If she is not able to put the bell on this monster for FoxNewsers to hear she will have failed one of the main justifications for her existence on NBC. 5.
