When evening news anchors go on vacation the substitute says they are "on
assignment." Maybe that's what NBC could have said about Chuck Todd.

While the staff probably needs a vacation, the crew would just get a day
off. I'm sure they work weekdays at NBC, too. As for whether NBC should
have done an MTP for later airing, cable, or streaming, remember that they
had to make this decision months ago. The normal rhythm of DC says that
booking guests is difficult because nobody is in town now. The other shows
all had Scaramucci as a guest. What would Chuck Todd get out of him that
the others can't?
