I wanted to mention an interesting side note to this. I used to have an 8 1/2 foot dish that had support legs that were mounted 1/3 of the way in from the edge of the dish.
When I took that dish apart many years ago and leayed the supports next to the supports for the 5 foot dish, they were exactly the same size. I'm guessing in an effort to save money in manufacturing and in parts storage, they made these 2 dishes use the same suppoprt legs. Maybe this will help.
