I can help but I need to recreate the problem. What is it that you are
trying to install and where can I find it? I will try it here locally
and mebbe then I can help you out. I see that you have an issue with the
package dependency. The software that you wish to install depends on
conflicting software. Is it the latest version of the software that you
want? Do you not have sources for the same - you could build from
scratch... Share the link to the same so that we have a better idea.

For the Freeze mebbe u want to generate the crash dump using Alt +
SysRq release SysRq and press 'c' keeping Alt pressed (SysRq is Print
Screen usually). Then submit a bug report to ubuntu. But do try and
update your system with the repositories below and then see if you still
see the freeze.

Coupla things:

I hope the system that you use is up to date. You may want to add some
more repositories if it is a 64 bit system then -

http://anotherugly.wordpress.com/my-ubuntu-hardy-64-bit-sourceslist/

And generally for Hardy from -

http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu:Hardy

I am not sure if these would help but these would get you support for
most of the latest stuff. I got opera for 64 bit working before 9.51
came into picture.

Let me know if any of this helps at all?
