Thanks for posting this, interesting dilemma and interesting discussion
(discussion which I would have missed, not having a github account).

Have the developers states how/whether this would impact the network as
a whole? Could a malicious agent (say, in control of an arbitrary
number of nodes) exploit it to put Twister on its knees?
