Thanks for your reply.
I was just wondering if you should tell me what third party ODBC driver you mean?
I have the UniVerse ODBC Driver if thats what you mean?
Als ohow do i use SQL 2000 to connect to it?
Is there any documentation/tutorial for connecting to the database though SQL 2000?
Thanks.

A number of sites have done this. It can be done, it can be done transparently, and it can be done "live".
The only third party software you'll need is an ODBC driver for the "SQL database".
You can create UniVerse BASIC subroutines that use BCI functions to effect the updates (or inserts, or calls to stored procedures). If you create these as trigger subroutines, you can have them operate automatically when the UniVerse file is updated.
Refer to the BASIC SQL Client Interface manual for details of the BCI functions (or type HELP BCI).
Refer to the UniVerse SQL Reference (chapter 5) for details on how to write trigger subroutines.
