If it is UniData - you probably need to consider the endian of the files (which is the same consideration in fact if it is UniVerse).
So - you would need to run convdata, convidx, convcode and quite possibly convmark. Each are fairly well documented in the manuals - but my guess is that will fix the problem if you are UniData based.
