Heh, 2.6.12 is Breezy's kernel. Dapper uses 2.6.15. Please install linux-686 package. That should fix /dev/usb thingy. You can try printing then. Changing DeviceURI to /dev/usblp0 will fix printing (this is a workaround) if it doesn't work with default setup.
You can add: deb http://www.grad.hr/~ivoks/ubuntu/cups/1.2.1 ./ to /etc/apt/sources.list, do an apt-get update ; apt-get upgrade and test this packages. These packages should work without workaround.
