I ran the new beta with the latest upstream kernel and all is fine
either on power down/up or in reboot. I also noticed that I had saved a
previous vm snapshot that I didn't notice before. I restarted that and
installed the latest upstream kernel and uninstalled my old guest
additons. I then reinstalled the guest additions and all looked good.
I then both restarted the vm up/down and also rebooted and had no hang
ups.
