I tried Dmitry's method and it doesn't work. Moving the mouse still stops login and shows a black screen with cursor (reproduced all of the time). When I don't move the mouse (as basically everyone else suggested), it works 100% of the time (I think). Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS
It probably also isn't anything GPU related, don't worry about installing any drivers. I am using two computers attached to a single monitor (1 by HDMI and another by DP) and that doesn't seem to be the issue too (disabling auto select doesn't fix it). Switching to Ubuntu on Wayland using the login gear does not make any difference too. I would pinpoint it to what the mouse affects during login if I was fixing this issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2089709 Title: Ubuntu 24.04 sometimes logs in to a black screen if the mouse is moved during login To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/2089709/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
