g) concerns about the mix of llvm packages installed at the same time interfering at runtime or buildtime[1]
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/2133814/comments/10 The discussion on Matrix continued a bit but otherwise not much more came up. While I agree that, yet again, the namespacing would be all or nothing there is another ecosystem we want to match. Those of developers using the upstream or self built packages, and if Ubuntu now has a different scheme which are renamed and which are not that would make it even more horrible. I think this is a desire to ask upstream about to consider for this any any prefix/suffix/namespace decision to consider going for an all/none approach, which as mentioned before should over time no more be hiding away in usr/Lib/more-paths. I'd appreciate if you link or if not existing link such a discussion addressing Doko's good concerns (he is the one that actually knows about LLVM well), but for now I think we do not need or want to block on that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2133814 Title: NEW package request: llvm-toolchain-rocm To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/2133814/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
