k) namespace package names:
none of your binary files names are already present in Ubuntu It is hard to say "that is ok", because the whole namespace is cluttered with the same that doko raised in regard to file names. rocm is slapped onto some, but alone the path binary files: The majority is in /usr/lib/rocm and unique as nothing else is placed there. Potential conflicts: libamd-comgr-dev: /usr/include/amd_comgr/amd_comgr.h hipcc: /usr/bin/hipcc hipcc: /usr/bin/hipconfig hipcc: /usr/share/man/man1/hipcc.1.gz hipcc: /usr/share/man/man1/hipconfig.1.gz All those are from rocm-llvm which you intend to replace, so eventually I assume they are removed? For now 1) your Package: hipcc-rocm Conflicts: hipcc 2) your Package: libamd-comgr-rocm-dev Conflicts: libamd-comgr-dev => No action needed for that. But I'm curious - It can be confusing to keep all the -rocm and rocm- things apart between e.g. src:llvm-toolchain-rocm and src:rocm-llvm :-/ If someone would have asked me if rocm-device-libs-21 or is from one or the other I'd have struggled. Do I understand correctly that once your solution is complete you intend to remove src:rocm-llvm and the potential confusion gets easier? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2133814 Title: NEW package request: llvm-toolchain-rocm To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/2133814/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
