I've played it twice and it's one I want to trade for. here are some
of my observations...

Disappointments:

I wished they had matched up the action choices and the skills
associated with them better. When you choose to "attack" more often
than not your "weapon skill" does not come into play--the skill that
is beneficial could be anything.

Some statuses can really wipe out the enjoyment level of the game.
Since it's the story twists that makes this game fun and interesting,
being stuck in prison for too many turns keeps your story from
progressing and is dull in comparison (and can be frustrating).

It's a longer game, so if you play with people who don't enjoy this
game, they can ruin it for everyone. This game is like Space Alert--
the people you play with play a big role in its enjoyment. If you
want your decisions to control your destiny in the game, stay away.

Thrills:

Fun! Get the right group together and it's nonstop fun. Our first
game had us hooting, hollering, and enjoying the entire 2-3 hours!

Fun! It feels like an adventure game. Though your choices don't
control if you win or lose (much) they do control what happens to
you. The first game I won because of a crazy twist of fate during my
last 3 turns that I could not have been planned better if I had
thought it through myself. First, I randomly received the Ebony Horse
treasure which would allow me to teleport to Baghdad on a moments
notice if a win condition was declared. Then I lost in a Grand
encounter in the Undersea Kingdom, which resulted in me being washed
up at any city on a coast--right by Baghdad! Since I didn't have to
use my Ebony Horse to teleport, I turned it in to end my Quest and
marry the princess and become the Vizier which helped me barely edge
out the win on a tie breaker.
And that's the kind of thing that happened in Disney's Aladdin. It
looked like there was no chance for Aladdin to defeat Jafar and then a
series of unpredictable events occurs and he comes out on top.
(As a side note, I enjoyed the other players story sequences almost
as much as my own).

Fun! I like games where you can learn new skills, collect magical
treasures that lead to more successful encounters which leads to new
skills, and more magical treasures....

Fun! Unique. This game is one of a kind, at least from any other games
I own.

Okay, so this game is definitely not for everyone, but I really
enjoyed it. Like Matthew said, I don't think I'd play it more than
3-4 times a year, just to keep the stories fresh. I think I could
play this with my girls and nephews and we would have a rollicking
good time, and that's why I want to pick this up sometime.
