Where do you get this surveil nonsense from? how is that linked? You are trying
to position your (religious?) ideology with something completely unrelated, I'm
struggling as to why?!

Parents voted for a government with a manifesto to make it harder for porn to
be made available to children (both parties have the same direction and not
enough people will vote for the other irrelevant parties). They want greater
controls and to make it harder for folks to view this content, in their head
they think that's being responsible much in the same way a 4 year old can't go
into the local Odeon and watch Kill Bill.

Lets be clear:

1: There is no censorship, if you want to view these sites you just have to
prove that you are of age to view them.
2: There is no mass government surveillance related to this.

To tackle this government direction is technically simple, infact, I could have
written the code to do when I was eleven.

For the extreme person, they can by-pass it by various means, but also loads of
sites aren’t under UK jurisdiction in anycase but parents want a solution to
this and many ISP's and other companies offer it.

Cheers,

So, because it's hard for parents to learn, and some parents don't
censor at all in their homes at all the gov't should surveil and
censor everyone, rather than provide the tools parents need to do
it themselves?

This thread is about where the responsibility to protect the
children lays.
