Well, there has been some progress on my end but its a dirty hack.
I've found that removing all other drivers but libata from the initrd helps on a couple of systems. So atm I have two initrds on my bootcds and on my pxe share. The normal 4.8-rc2 one and a hacked one. :/ But its actually getting worse with every try. Almost every new client I try to install hangs after copying the Windows CD and rebooting. PXE starts, continues with local boot, ... nothing. It just hangs there. When I do a second run on the same machine it usually works flawlessy. There are however a number of clients I cant manage to get installed with neither the normal initrd nor the hacked one. No matter what I do they keep telling me "NTLDR not found". :/ I also wanted to try the latest unattended-gui bootcd but I must say ... what a pain in the ass to get everything needed together. And after creating a profile for my unattended and defining the variables for user, password and share the damn thing still asks me for a user, password and share... -.- Though, this doesnt really belong here. - jens ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by the 2008 JavaOne(SM) Conference Don't miss this year's exciting event.
