Unfortunately this is a word (fidelity) that I hear almost daily now! We have a new reading series and ALL of the materials from any other reading program have been collected by the central office and we have been told that NOTHING other than our new series is to be taught. Anything not in the series must be done outside of our allotted time which means there is no other time for anything else. It's VERY frustrating since just last year I taught my entire year using trade books and the Comprehension Toolkit and had some of the highest reading scores in my school system.
