. When considering a proposal to include the Guarani currency symbol, perhaps the Austral of Argentina should also be reviewed.
The appearance of the symbol used for the obsolete Austral currency of Argentina has been reported as "an A with a bar through it" and as "double-dashed A". This currency was used through 1991. This short-lived currency apparently was used between circa 1985 and 1991. In the 1800s, there was the "Argentino" currency unit, but I don't know if that double barred A glyph was used back then.
