Thanks Ron.  That is what I have been thinking.  My '84 42' DCMY is in northern 
California and I have been thinking of taking her to the Northwest.  The small 
heater method sounds good to me, but I have no experience with cold winter care 
down here.

i have lived in seattle all my life and have kept a small heater in the engine 
room and some heat in galley with no problems at all during the winter.  The 5 
days a year that it might get coild enough shouldnt be a worry.  ron 42
