I live in Boston and keep my boat running all year. The comments about electric heat is fine if you check your boat every day.
If you loose your power for any reason and it is 5 or 10 degrees out, you will freeze up very quickly especially if it is windy out.

I'm in Seattle, on Lake Washington, and use a West Marine fan-forced
air dryer in the hold area where the tanks are, one in the main cabin,
two in the engine/generator spaces, and smaller (non fan-forced)
heaters in the fore cabin and head. Never had a problem. The fan-
forced ones use about 100 watts, the smaller ones about 50, so all in
all, I'm using under 5 amps AC, which is bupkes even on a small (30
amp) circuit.
