I would check with Power Products or some other Detroit authorized dealer on what the lowest pressure you can have without doing damage to your engine and if that is normal. If it is your gear, Contact Capital Gear (if that is the gears you have) and talk to there service department about the problem. There is a chance you have another problem and that is why the alarm is going off so much. Capt. are you sure it is acctually your tranis that are allarming? on my 42, when I first got it, the alarms would start to go off when I had been running hard and slowed down. My alarms still go off when I shift in and out of gear. the problem is the engine low oil pressure sender unit. I have 471's, and was told by my detroit mechanic that the engines have a real low oil pressure when they are hot and (old) and this causes the alarms to go off. He recomended dropping to a lower sender unit. cant remember, I think I went from 15 psi down to 9---- or 12 psi sender units. This stoped most of it , but it still chirps when I shift in and out gear. those alarms are tied together, oil, temp, trani oil and temp, oil pressure.
