I think that if the breaker is of the proper amp rating to protect the wire
used in the system, then it should be fine to eliminate the fuse at the pump.
My new (Shurflo) pump came setup the same way as you described, but it works
fine.  I did have to run new, larger gage wire to accommodate the amperage
which was greater than that required by the original pump.  I also had to
locate the new pump "within 6 feet of the tank", rather than putting it where
the original was.  And, eliminate the accumulator!

I installed a new freshwater pump and it came with an automotive type
fuse holder (square fuse with 2 prongs) Anyway the fuse does not make
adequate contact and cuts out until it's wiggled. I have given up on
the set up. My question is. do I need an in line fuse when it is wired
thru the dc panel with a separate breaker. If I can hard wire it in I
will, otherwise I will get a traditional fuse holder to replace it.

Thanks.
