Hi Tom,

I got this weight from the broker when I bought the boat. He looked
the specs up somewhere.
Anyway the Navy version weighs 16500 lbs, I had a 24' CB Fiberform
before that all ready
had 7300 lbs empty on the scale (single engine, empty tank, no gear)
My neighbor in the marina
(drydock all our boats are getting hauled out and put on blocks) has a
28' Bayliner, he thinks he is @ 10000lbs.
Well all together and keep in mind that Uniflites where never build to
be light racers, I think 12500lbs sounds about right.

Are you talking about stress cracks? I got lots of them all over the
place and talked to the fiber glass guy @ the marina here.
"Not a problem, in his experience it is the gelgoat that cracks and
not the fiberglass structure. He is usually really concerned
when he sees chiped gelcoat (the best way to start blister) on these
stress cracks he doesn't do anything about them
because the don't start blisters and they will usually appear again
after 1 or 2 seasons.But I guess it's only one opinion.

I would asume that fiberglass loses some flexibility properties over
time but not the integrity it self at least as long as we are
talking mono hulls, more likely the gelcoat will lose some properties
over time.
