The engines set me back quite a bit. I paid 45k for the two engines, transmissions, installation of the engines (setting them), new shafts, seals, bearings, and the glasswork needed for the new shaft logs. I went up from 1-1/8 to 1-1/4 shafts. People on this site were just saying how a "project" boat isn't any cheaper than buying a turnkey, and they are so right. However I now have a reliable boat that I know every inch of, so I would do it again, plus I am the type of person who always has projects going on.
