The engines set me back quite a bit.  I paid 45k for the two engines,
transmissions, installation of the engines (setting them), new shafts,
seals, bearings, and the glasswork needed for the new shaft logs.  I
went up from 1-1/8 to 1-1/4 shafts.  People on this site were just
saying how a "project" boat isn't any cheaper than buying a turnkey,
and they are so right.  However I now have a reliable boat that I know
every inch of, so I would do it again, plus I am the type of person
who always has projects going on.
