I had a heating problem one time that took a long time to figure out and if your engine heats up more the faster it runs, check out the raw water inlet hoses. Mine had come apart inside the hose and every time water started to flow faster it caused the loose inter lining to partially plug water flow. You might want to check that out as well. Thanks for the advice. I like your approach and I've ordered a highly reviewed ir thermometer. I've checked the water output and it's relatively equal for both engines, so I can check that off. I think I'll check the temp, then perhaps the thermostats, and I'll most likely replace both the impellers anyway. I don't have the service records from the previous owner for when they were last replaced.
