Tony, you need to read what people write and the context in which they write before you pop off on them. I'm sure you don't mean to be a cyber bully, but, boy oh boy, sometimes you quack like a duck. Here is what you wrote, followed by what Frank wrote, politely correcting your misinformation: Tony: As for the "different ilk" these private partners are seeking ... do you truly think Bill and Melinda Gates spent all that money on the HS of the Future just because they were trying to gentrify West Philadelphia? They're in Seattle, for Pete's sake. Frank: The Philly mag article made it very clear that HSOF is NOT a Gates Foundation project:
"There are two big misconceptions about the School of the Future. The first is that Microsoft is paying for it. The second is that it is a Gates Foundation school, one of the thousands of high schools around the country that have received money from Bill Gates’s philanthropic organization. (So far, more than $1 billion has been invested.) The foundation focuses on improving high-school graduation rates by funding small schools of 200 to 600 students, and frequently bankrolls technology-based initiatives. But the School of the Future is not a Gates School. It has nothing to do with the Gates Foundation philanthropy." Frank took the time to read the article I posted and he shared a piece of it for the benefit of the list. If you choose not to thank him for his contribution, that is your choice, but your attack is so far off base, it just reads as an angry non sequitur.
