This is a generic message on teh player display becuase of the limited screen real estate. If you turn on d_source in server settings->debugging and then look in /tmp/slimserver.log, you should find a more detailed reason why the server can't open the file. If you are using wma, it could be a transcoding problem. It is usually permissions, but can certainly be other things.
